Pauric Sweeney is one such designer. Hailing from Co Donegal, Sweeney was always interested in fashion as a career. “While I was in boarding school in Blackrock in Dublin we had mock work interviews in the careers we were interested in. I chose fashion, and they brought in Paul Costelloe, a former pupil at the school. However, in the end, I chose to study architecture at Temple University in Philadelphia. Now I feel that a certain amount of meandering in life is necessary to arrive at where you want in life,” he says.
